HAMILTON SPRING RD., 7501 -- Granted a variance request by Ewald and Doris Goetz to build a garage and deck onto a house 20 feet from the rear property line instead of the minimum 30 feet required.

LANCASTER DR., 8610 -- Granted a variance request by Margaret E. Bash to build a handicap-access ramp one foot from a side property line instead of the minimum eight feet required and along the front property line instead of the minimum 25 feet from the line as required.

OLD GEORGETOWN RD., 9999 -- Denied a special exception request by CEH Partnership to build and operate a housing facility for the elderly.

WHEATCROFT CT., 7611 -- Granted a variance request by Kenwood Development Corp. to allow a house to remain three 23 feet from the rear property line instead of the minimum 25 feet required. GERMANTOWN

BLACK ROAD, 17101 -- Granted a special exception request by James A. Swink to operate a separate apartment within a private residence.

FREDERICK RD., 19235 -- Granted a special exception request by the Exxon Co. U.S.A. to renovate a gas station. OLNEY

ALFALFA TER., 4208 -- Granted a variance request by Cherrywood Associates Limited Partnership to allow a roofed, wrap-around porch on a house to remain 18 feet from the front property line instead of the minimum 22 feet required.

DARTMOOR LA., 3409 -- Denied a variance request by Winchester Homes Inc. to allow a partially built house to remain 7.2 feet from a side property line instead of the minimum 10 feet required. POTOMAC

RIVER RD., 11606 -- Granted a variance request by William C. Schmeisser to build a detached garage in the front yard instead of the back yard as required. ROCKVILLE

BRIARWOOD TER., 14411 -- Granted a variance request by Lawrence C. Pitman to add a deck to a residence, leaving a total of 21 feet of open space in both side yards instead of the minimum 25 feet required. SILVER SPRING

ELLSWORTH DR., 600 block -- Denied a special exception request by CEH Partnership to build and operate a housing facility for the elderly.

GOOD HOPE RD., 15801 -- Granted a special exception request by Little Acres Day Care Inc. to operate a day care center for as many as 15 children in a residential zone.

ROBEY AND BRIGGS CHANEY ROADS -- Granted a special exception request by Children's World Inc. to operate a day care center for as many as 130 children in a residential zone.

WALDEN RD., 9320 -- Granted a variance request by Katherine Stone to allow contuned operation of a separate apartment within a private residence.
