The board granted the following requests for zoning variances:

COLUMBUS ST. N., 602 -- By Dana and Jaqueline Dudley to construct a two-story addition to the rear of a two-story town house with 1,601 square feet of floor area rather than 1,044 square feet as required, and with total open space on the lot of 440 square feet rather than 800 square feet as required. 4 to 1.

LEE ST. S., 414 -- By Charles B. Newlin to construct a two-story addition to the rear of a town house adjacent to a side property line rather than a minimum setback of eight feet from the line as required. 5 to 0.

MONCURE DR., 212 -- By John G. Metz to construct an open porch on the front of a town house to within 4 1/4 feet of the front property line rather than a minimum of 25 feet from the line as required. 5 to 0.

PITT ST. N., 400 -- By Lawrence N. Brandt Inc. to construct a town house with a vision clearance to the intersection of two public streets of 67 feet rather than a minimum vision clearance of 100 feet as required. 5 to 0.

PITT ST. S., 816 -- By Florence M. Young to construct a storage shed adjacent to the rear and side property lines rather than a minimum setback of 16 feet from each line as required. 5 to 0.

QUEEN ST., 505 -- By Gene Jewett to construct a two-story addition to a two-story town house to within 13 feet of the side property line rather than a minimum of 16 feet from the line as required. 5 to 0.

RUSSELL RD., 301 -- By Dana and Carol Ertel to construct a two-story addition to a single-family house to within 20 feet of the front property line and to within seven feet of a side property line rather than a minimum of 25 feet and 18 feet, respectively, from the lines as required. 5 to 0.

RUSSELL RD., 1900 -- By Charles Sheperdson to construct a three-story single-family house with an attached three-car garage to within 10 feet of a side property line rather than a minimum of 12 1/4 feet from the line as required, and to construct an exterior stairway to within 2.7 feet of a side property line rather than a minimum of five feet from the line as required. 4 to 1.

RUSSELL RD., 3606 -- By David R. Allison to construct a detached two-story garage to within 20 1/2 feet of the rear property line rather than a minimum of 30 feet from the line as required. 4 to 1.

The board denied the following request:

EARLY ST. N., 10 -- By Lilia G. Butler to construct an addition to the front of a single-family house to within 28 feet of the front property line rather than a minimum of 30 feet from the line as required. 4 to 0.

The board deferred the following requests:

MOUNT VERNON AVE., 2200 and 2206 -- By O.T.V. Inc. to construct a 33,956-square-foot office building to within two feet of the front and back property lines rather than a minimum of 10 feet and 36 feet, respectively, from the lines as required. A special meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals has been scheduled July 2 to consider this application.

WEST ST. N., 125 -- By the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development to construct a two-story addition to a side of a three-story office building to within six feet of a side property line rather than a minimum of 20 feet as required.
