The Northern Virginia Jewish Community Center invites single adults between the ages of 22 and 45 to participate in its fall co-ed volleyball league. Games will be played every Tuesday between Sept. 22 and Nov. 24 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Frost Intermediate School, 4101 Pickett Rd., Fairfax. Registration fee is $15 for members and $18 for nonmembers. Fee includes the cost of T-shirts, final party and awards. Sign-up deadline is Sept. 8. Educational help is free for teen-age mothers who are dropouts or thinking about dropping out of school. The program, called Project Opportunity, has been organized through The Bryant Adult and Community Education Center in Fairfax County. Sponsored by a grant from the Virginia Department of Education, Project Opportunity offers young mothers a chance to complete a high school education. Counseling services, classes in parenthood, and job development and placement are also part of the curriculum. Handicaps Courageous, a support group for persons with special needs, invites prospective members to attend its next meeting at the Woodburn Center for Community Mental Health at 10 a.m. Sept. 3.
