BETHESDA

ROYAL DOMINION DR., 7606 -- Granted a variance request by Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Gersh to build a swimming pool partly in a side yard instead of entirely in the rear yard as required.

WILDOAK DR., 9405 -- Granted a variance request by Barbara Koch and David G. Eisenstein to allow swimming pool equipment to remain in a side yard instead of in the rear yard as required.

CHEVY CHASE

RIDGE ST., 4412 -- Denied a variance request by Patricia H. Buhl to reconstruct a detached garage adjacent to a side property line instead of a minimum two feet from the line as required.

MEADOW LA., 7700 -- Granted a variance request by E.A. Morrison to build an addition onto a house that does not conform to current zoning laws. Any addition to such a structure requires a variance. The board also granted a variance allowing the addition to be 5 1/2 feet from the rear property line instead of the minimum 20 feet required.

COLESVILLE

EVESHAM PLACE, 15616 -- Granted a variance request by H.M. Witt Inc. to expand a one-car garage into a two-car garage that will be 5 1/2 feet from a side property line instead of the minimum 10 feet required.

DAMASCUS

KINGSTEAD RD., 11118 -- Granted a variance request by Jules W. Lindau IV to build a garage in a side yard instead of in the rear yard as required.

GAITHERSBURG

FLINTS GROVE LA., 11737 -- Granted a variance request by Lois and Robert Cunius allowing an addition currently under construction to remain 23 feet from the rear property line instead of the minimum 30 feet required. The board also granted a variance to build a deck onto the house that would be 18 feet from the rear property line instead of the minimum 30 feet required.

LOG HOUSE RD., 24221 -- Granted a variance request by Robert J. Tonelli to build a garage eight feet from a side property line instead of the minimum 10 feet from the line as required.

TURKEY FOOT RD., 14101 -- Granted a special exception request by Richard A. Heald to build and operate a private riding stable in an area zoned for both residential and rural use.

ROCKVILLE

CATALPA CT., 17049 -- Granted a special exception request by Marian F. Brooks to operate a day care center for 20 children in a residential zone.

OVERLEA DR., 9323 -- Granted a special exception by Katherine N. Hughes to operate a private riding stable in an area zoned for both residential and rural use.

SILVER SPRING

BREGMAN RD., 13304 -- Granted a variance request by Harlow B. Close to build an eight-foot-high fence in a side yard instead of in the rear yard as required for a fence of that height.

CLIFTON RD., 13401 -- Denied a special exception request by Patricia B. Naylor to operate a day care center for up to 40 children in a residential zone.

FRANKLIN AVE., 322 -- Granted a variance request by Judith I. Luna to enlarge and screen in a porch that will be four feet from a side property line instead of the minimum seven feet required.

SOMERSET

FALSTONE AVE., 4700 -- Granted a variance request by Varda and Raphael Daniels to build a one-story addition onto a house that does not conform to current zoning laws because of its location on the lot. Any addition to such a structure requires a variance. A variance also was granted for the addition, which will be 10 ten feet from the rear property line instead of the minimum 20 feet required.

TAKOMA PARK

BOSTON AVE., 400 -- Granted a variance request by Robert and S.H. Holliday to allow an addition under construction on a corner lot house to remain 22 feet from one street line instead of the minimum 25 feet required and 23 feet from another street line instead of the minimum 25 feet required.
