SOUTH SIDE OF EISENHOWER AVENUE WEST OF TELEGRAPH ROAD -- By Alexandria Tech Center Associates to construct a 50-seat, 1,200-square-foot restaurant. 5 to 0.
EAST SIDE OF HOOFFS RUN DRIVE BETWEEN EISENHOWER AVENUE AND I-395 -- By Charles R. Hoof Jr. and Bernard M. Fagelson to construct a two-story, 15,840-square-foot office and storage complex. 5 to 0.

EAST SIDE OF SOUTH UNION STREET BETWEEN WOLFE AND WILKES STREETS -- By Lawrence N. Brandt to construct a four-story, 211,220-square-foot apartment building with 104 units. 5 to 2. Also approved for the same site was a preliminary site plan request by Dominion Lands Inc. to construct a four-story, 46,000-square-foot office building with 88 residential units. 5 to 2. Only one of the two site plans approved for the site will be built there, pending approval by the City Council. The following requests were approved:

WASHINGTON STREET BETWEEN FIRST STREET AND I-95 -- By the City of Alexandria to lower the height limit along Washington Street between First Street and I-95 from 77 feet to 50 feet. The approval also allows for a building of up to 77 feet high to be built, if a special use permit is granted. 7 to 0.
WEST GLEBE ROAD, SOUTH SIDE OF THE 900 BLOCK -- By Virginia Power for a special use permit to open a company parking lot on a currently vacant lot. 5 to 2.
The Planning Commission also approved a request by Michael Jackson to name the road running from South Royal Street to Jones Point, "Kenneth W. Smith Drive." 6 to 0. The following request was denied:
