Friendly's Robert Green is certainly enjoying one of the best seasons of any area running back. The 5-foot-8, 180-pound senior tailback has rushed for more than 1,100 yards. Saturday, Green carried 25 times for 181 yards and scored all of his team's points (three touchdowns, three kicked extra points and a field goal) in a 24-6 victory over Crossland.

Green, who runs 40 yards in 4.6 seconds, possesses extraordinary on the field.

"He's one of those backs who runs with his eyes," said Friendly assistant coach John Zier. "He sees the whole field, and just gives a fantastic effort."

Green prides himself on knowing when to run around defenders, and when to run through them.

"There are too many people out there to outrun everybody," he said. "The more people I can avoid, the better my chances are of getting to the goal line."

Averaging 6.6 yards a carry, and accounting for more than half the Patriots' total offense, Green has led Friendly to a 4-3 record.

"I hope I'm saving my best for next week's homecoming {against Largo}," said Green. "But even if I don't, the way I see it, I'm injury free and I'm having fun."
