The City Council is seeking one resident to fill an adult-member vacancy on the Bowie Education Committee.
The nine-member committee makes recommendations to the council on public education developments in Bowie schools.

The Gladys Spellman Nursing Center in Cheverly is seeking volunteers to assist its nursing staff.
Duties include transporting wheelchair patients, helping with meals, delivering mail and answering phones.

The City of Seat Pleasant is still looking for volunteer drivers for the city's Para Transit System.
Volunteers will drive a 10-passenger van to provide door-to-door transportation for elderly and handicapped residents within the city limits.

The University Park Town Council has rejected a proposal from the Prince George's County Council to consolidate municipal and county real estate tax bill collections.
The county proposal would allow residents to pay town and county taxes on one bill from the county. Residents now pay their taxes separately.
The county council has proposed joint bill collecting with all of its 28 municipalities. Fifteen have agreed to the new process, which is scheduled to begin in July. Besides University Park, four other municipalities have rejected it. They are Brentwood, Laurel, Landover Hills and Takoma Park.
