Howard Professor Wins Michigan Alumni Award
Dr. Margaret E. Grisby, a professor at Howard University College of Medicine and a resident of Northwest, was recently presented with the University of Michigan's Leonard F. Sain Esteemed Alumni Award for 1987.
A tropical disease specialist, Grigsby worked in a global vaccination and treatment program sponsored by the World Health Organization that helped eradicate smallpox 10 years ago.
Arena Stage Public Relations Director Named
Regan Byrne was recently named director of public relations and audience development for the Arena Stage.
Byrne will be responsible for press releases, media cultivation, public relations activities, audience development and community outreach programs.
For the past three years, Byrne was the director of public relations and marketing for The Shakespeare Theatre at The Folger . Before that, she worked for theaters in Illinois and with Universal Studios in California.
Three Residents Inducted Into Honor Society
Three District residents were among those inducted into the Epsilon Beta chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda national honor society for continuing education at Trinity College.
Sandra J. Holevinski, an international studies major; Kathleen Quinn, a history major, and Francetta Willet, an economics major, were honored in ceremonies this week at the college on Michigan Avenue NE.
