The Annandale Business & Professional Women's Club is accepting nominations for its Young Career Woman Award to be presented in January.

Candidates must be ages 23 to 30 and have been employed for at least one year. The award will be given to the woman with the most outstanding achievements.

Register today or tomorrow for a Christmas Wreath workshop scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Lee District Park in Fairfax. Fee is $6 per person plus $16 for supplies.

To learn how to assemble a gingerbread house, register by Dec. 4 in a two-part workshop at Lee District Park in Fairfax.

Reservations are being accepted for the first guided tours through Torpedo Factory Art Center of Alexandria.

The new tour program starts Tuesday and will run between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays and on weekends. Trained docents will relate the history of the center, explain artists' techniques and lead groups into artists' studios.

Whimsey Hill Farm Schooling Show, an annual event intended to introduce horses and riders of all levels of experience to show competition, will be held Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 a.m. at Frying Pan Park.
