The following preliminary site plans were approved:

COMMERCE ST., 211 -- By Behzad Habatkhorian to construct a two-story, 7,186-square-foot building for commercial use. 7 to 0.

NORTH SIDE OF DUKE STREET WEST OF YALE DRIVE -- By Cameron Joint Venture to construct an office/retail project with 15,000-square-feet of office space and 145,750-square-feet of retail space. 7 to 0.

QUEEN ST., 603-605 -- By J. Mitchell to pave nine additional parking spaces for building residents. 7 to 0.

SOUTHEAST CORNER FO SECOND AND NORTH ROYAL STREETS -- By A. Eugene Thomas to construct a three-story, 350,043-square-foot office building with two underground levels of parking. 7 to 0.

SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SOUTH PICKETT AND SOUTH VAN DORN STREET -- By Public Storage Inc. to construct two four-story public storage buildings with a combined total of 105,000-square-feet. 7 to 0.

The following requests were approved:

NORTH SIDE OF DUKE STREET, 3200 BLOCK -- By the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority to subdivide its Cameron Valley property. 7 to 0.

ECHOLS AVE., 5130 -- By Neil and Linda Bachman for a special use permit to operate a child care facility for nine children. 7 to 0.

EISENHOWER AVE., 5404 -- By Don Allen Servicenter for a special use permit to operate an automobile sales business. 7 to 0.

KING ST., 1101 -- By Joe and Mo's Restaurant for a special use permit to operate a valvet parking service. 7 to 0.

PICKETT ST. S., 25 -- By Fairfax Foods Inc. for a special use permit to change the ownership of a restaurant. 7 to 0.

WASHINGTON STREET FROM FIRST STREET TO I-95, AND KING STREET FROM WASHINGTON STREET TO PATRICK STREET -- By the City of Alexandria to lower the building height limits along these streets from 50 feet and 77 feet with a 13.5 foot building setback to 50 feet only. 7 to 0.

The following requsts were denied:

LINCOLNIA RD., 6201 -- By Quantrell Avenue Limited Partership to change a lot's zoning from low density commerical to higher density commercial/office. 4 to 3.
