Statewide Teacher Survey
The Howard County chapter of the League of Women Voters is conducting a survey on teachers as part of a statewide study of the profession.
Parents, teachers and others interested in participating in the study may obtain a questionnaire from the league until Monday.
Information from the study will be used by the league to help identify problem areas and to develop recommendations for the future. To obtain the survey, contact the league office at 730-0142.
Art Exhibit in Ellicott City
The Howard County Arts Council is sponsoring an open art exhibit at the Rockland Arts Center in Ellicott City next month. All pieces must be original artworks that have not been exhibited in the Rockland galleries before.
There will be no entry fees, no hanging fees and no commissions charged to the artists for the exhibition.
Artwork will be accepted until the gallery is full. Artists are asked to deliver their work on Jan. 31. The exhibition will run from Feb. 4 through 29. For information, call 465-6700.
Registration for spring courses at Howard Community College is Jan. 19 through 29.
Registration hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Copies of the spring class schedule will be mailed to county residents next week. The semester begins Feb. 1. For information, call 992-4856.
