Susan L. English of Fairfax has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to teach English at the University of Abidjan in Ivory Coast until the end of this summer. English, the director of George Mason University's English Language Institute, is one of 1,000 Americans who will lecture or conduct research this year under the program.
Cheerleading squads from George Mason University and James Madison University competed in January with 18 other teams in the Holiday Inn/Coca-Cola National Cheerleading Championships in San Diego.
