The City of Bowie will host the Prince George's County Public Schools Information Fair Saturday Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at city hall, 2614 Kenhill Dr.

The fair will highlight comprehensive, magnet and Milliken II school programs. There will also be presentations on before- and after-school care, technology education, talented and gifted programs and the science, math and technical curriculum.

The filing deadline for candidates in the town's upcoming elections for mayor and Town Council is March 1. Prospective candidates must file a Certificate of Nomination, bearing the signatures of at least five registered town voters, at town hall, 5700 Berwyn Rd., by 5 p.m.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and registered to vote in Berwyn Heights. They must have been a town resident for at least the last six months and continue to reside in the town during their term of office.

Residents who are U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old and have lived within town limits for at least 30 days can register to vote Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 19 at town hall.

The Navy's bluegrass group, Country Current, will give free concerts Sunday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 28 at the city's municipal center, 7500 Maple Ave.
