Two men were shot to death in the District early Sunday, pushing the city's homicide total this year to 214, D.C. police said yesterday.

Anthony Butler, 19, of the 1400 block of Ridge Place SE, was found about 12:15 a.m. in the 4300 block of Third Street SE suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. They said he died about 1:20 a.m. at D.C. General Hospital. Police said they had no suspects or motive in the shooting.

About 1 a.m., an unidentified man suffering from several gunshot wounds was found in the 300 block of 50th Street NE. He died about an hour later at D.C. General Hospital. Police arrested Vincent Elliot Starks, 18, of the 800 block of Barnaby Street NE, and charged him with first-degree murder in the slaying.

Police identified yesterday two of the people shot in an incident Saturday night in the 800 block of Chesapeake Street SE as Ricardo Johnson, 19, and Michael Oxley, 17, both of the 800 block of Bellevue Street SE.

They were listed in stable condition at D.C. General Hospital. The name of a man who was fatally wounded was withheld pending notification of relatives.
