Three people were found fatally shot in two locations in the Forestville section of Prince George's County yesterday, county police reported.

Two of the victims, a 16-year-old youth and a 20-year-old man, were found on the floor of a garden-apartment-style development in the 6000 block of Surrey Square Lane shortly after 4:30 p.m. Police said they did not know of any motive in that shooting.

The youth lived in the apartment and the man was a friend, investigators said. They said the victims were discovered when a relative returned to the apartment about 4:25 p.m.

The man was dead at the scene and the youth died at Washington Hospital Center, police said. Names of the victims were not available.

No name or age was immediately available for the victim of the third shooting. He was discovered about 7:30 p.m. in an apartment in the 6400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

A detective declined to discuss a possible motive in that shooting.

Investigators asked that anyone with information about the shootings call the police homicide unit at 772-4925.

The killings brought the number of homicides handled by county police this year to 59. Last year's corresponding figure was 68.
