Bluegrass Concert Slated

The Seldom Scene, one of the country's top bluegrass bands, will perform on the lawn of the Loudoun County Courthouse in Leesburg at 7 p.m. Sunday. The concert is sponsored by the Bluemont Concert Series. A $2 donation is requested. Call 777-6306 for information.

College Registration Begins

Disability Group to Meet

The Loudoun County Organization on Disability will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Monday at the Loudoun County Mental Health and Mental Retardation offices on Sycolin Road in Leesburg.

Sky Meadows Events Slated

Events this weekend at Sky Meadows State Park include a talk with Cpl. Marcus LeMasters, of the 2nd West Virginia Cavalry, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and an astronomy watch led by Geoff Chester, of the Smithsonian Planetarium, at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The astronomy watch will be canceled in case of rain, fog or heavy cloud cover. Admission to all programs is free but a $1.50 parking fee is charged on weekends. Call (703) 592-3556.

Firefighters Begin Fund Drive

The Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department will begin its annual fund drive Monday evening, and will continue Monday through Thursday until mid-August.

Wrestling Matches Planned

The Douglass Community Center will host an evening of professional wrestling matches beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday. Six matches are scheduled, and admission is $10. Hospital Opens Education Center

The Loudoun Hospital Center has opened an education center at the Country Side Commercial and Professional Center in Sterling.

The hospital will hold classes there to serve eastern Loudoun residents and at the main building in Leesburg to serve Leesburg and western Loudoun residents. The new center's address is 14 Pidgeon Hill Dr., Suite 210, Sterling.

Day-Care Providers to Meet

The Loudoun Day Care Providers Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Sterling Community Center meeting room. The topic will be day-care liability, accident and health insurance.

The association, a chapter of the Northern Virginia Family Day Care Providers Association, is open to current day-care providers or those considering becoming day-care providers. Membership is free. Call 450-2744.
