Concert on Sunday
The Prince William County Cultural Arts Federation will sponsor a concert in its Sunset Sounds Series at 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the lawn of the Courthouse Arts Center in Manassas. Full House, an acoustic band that performs novelty songs, rock, country and folk music, will provide the entertainment. Plan to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Admission is free. Northern Virginia Community College, Manassas Campus, will hold registration for fall classes through Aug. 24. Classes start Aug. 27. Mail-in and drop-off registration will be held through Aug. 10 and in-person registration from Aug. 16 to 24. Fall schedules have been mailed to all area households although schedules and further information may be obtained by visiting any of the five NOVA campuses or calling the Admissions and Records Office at 257-6620.
La Leche League
La Leche League of Prince William will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Manassas for new and expectant mothers interested in breastfeeding their babies. Call 368-7369 or 791-6813.
Blood Pressure Screenings
The Prince William Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer free blood pressure screenings in August according to the following schedule: second Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., McCoart Building; second Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Prince William County Courthouse; third Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Prince William Red Cross, Dumfries; third Sunday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Potomac Mills Mall; fourth Wednesday, 9 to 10 a.m., Potomac Mills Mall; fourth Thursday, noon to 4 p.m., Potomac Library.

Prince William County Public Schools will hold registration for new students entering elementary, middle and high schools through Aug. 30. Parents should contact the school guidance departments to schedule an appointment during the hours listed below for each school. To register new students, a certified copy of a birth certificate, evidence of immunizations, a certificate of physical examination for kindergarten through seventh-grade students, and a Social Security card must be presented. A copy of the current Individual Education Program and reports for students who have received special education also are required.
Elementary schools will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with the following exceptions: students assigned to River Oaks Elementary will register at McAuliffe Elementary; students assigned to George P. Mullen Elementary may register beginning Aug. 15 and should call the school for appointments. The phone number for Mullen Elementary is 330-0427.
Brentsville Middle and High School registration will be held from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Aug. 13 through 17.
Potomac High School registration is scheduled from 8:30 to 11:50 a.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily after Aug. 10.
Gar-Field and Osbourn Park will register students between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. starting Thursday Aug. 9.
Woodbridge High registration from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily through Aug. 20.
Stonewall Jackson High registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 22 through 30.
