A suspect in the slaying of Deborah Ann Davis, a cousin of Police Chief Isaac Fulwood Jr.'s, is being held on an unrelated homicide charge, police sources said.

Leroy Huff, 22, was arrested Thursday morning at the home of a girlfriend in the 400 block of 50th Street SE in connection with the killing of Leondos Wilkins, 22, who was found shot to death April 26.

Although Huff has not been charged in Davis's slaying, a police source said homicide investigators have established probable cause linking Huff. Davis, 38, who was found shot to death in a parking lot July 26. Davis had testified in an armed robbery case involving Huff and a second man just hours before she was slain.

A month earlier, Huff and the other suspect, Freddie Artis, 30, had abducted Davis and drove her to a park in Maryland, where they stabbed and shot her, police said. Davis crawled to safety, recovered from her wounds and then was held in protective custody until she testified. Artis was arrested June 28 and charged with attempted murder and related offenses.

Huff, of the 1600 block of G Street SE, also faces charges stemming from the June 26 attempt on Davis's life.
