Falls Church is expanding its curbside recycling program this fall. You can help by by volunteering as a neighborhood block captain in the city's "Adopt-a-Block" program, or by serving on one of the subcommittees of the Falls Church Recycling and Litter Prevention Council. Woodson Band Camp

The Virginia Department of Education's Division of Special Education is seeking proposals for conducting statewide training for school principals from October to June 1991. Proposals are due Aug. 20.

Older Virginians Meeting
Thelma Bland, newly appointed commissioner of the Virginia Department for the Aging, will meet with older Virginians and their families, health care and human services professionals, policymakers and elected officials at several "town meetings" this month to discuss concerns about housing, transportation, affordable health care, long-term care and other issues.
Arlington residents can meet with Bland from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gunston Senior Center, 2700 South Lang St.
Fairfax County residents can meet with her on the same day at the Massey Building, in the county supervisors' board room, 4100 Chain Bridge Road, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Bland will be in Alexandria to meet with residents from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 24 at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.
