Commissioners have argued that the community needs more time to study the proposal and to discuss concerns about parking, safety and trash pickup.

Commissioners also will discuss a historic preservation application for alterations to a garage at 18th and R streets NW.

Approved a BZA application by Jack and Renee Carlson to convert a former dry-cleaning store at 1307 East Capitol St. SE into offices.

The ANC took no action on a request by S & J Liquors, 1500 Massachusetts Ave. SE, to renew its liquor license. The 15th Street Neighborhood Association has asked the ANC not to support the renewal because of loitering, trash and public drunkenness in the area. No vote could be taken on the matter the ANC lacked a quorum of commissioners. Also, the commissioners said they wanted to await the outcome of negotiations between the association and the liquor store before taking a vote.
