Youth Symphony Auditions
Auditions for the Northern Virginia Youth Symphony Association's three orchestras will be held Sept. 5 through 8 at Fairfax High School. Open to music students in all Northern Virginia cities and counties, the association's three groups offer musical experiences and artistic training under outstanding conductors and coaches. Openings are available for string players, grades 3 through 12, and woodwind, brass, and percussion players, grades 7 through 12. The Youth Symphony, conducted by Luis Haza, is for advanced high school musicians, and performs a full symphonic repertoire. The Junior Youth Symphony is led by Donald Brubaker and is for junior high and high school students. Little League Registration
Arlington County Little League is organizing fall baseball leagues for boys and girls ages 10 to 12 years old. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 8 and a baseball clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Barcroft Park in Arlington. For more information, call 533-2025.
Big League Registration

The Camelot Players will hold auditions for their fall production of "Chinamen" by Michael Frayn and "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do" by Dennis Snee from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Camelot Elementary School in Annandale. Mount Vernon Class of 1985 Reunion

United Community Ministries, a local human services agency is southeast Fairfax County, is looking for bilingual volunteers for its Hispanic programs. Both receptionists and drivers are needed for daytime hours, Monday through Friday. A volunteer also is needed two weekends a month to lead a non-traditional scouting troop of girls.
