Polls will be open in Maryland from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Voters will find the location of their polling site printed on their voter's card. Registered voters without cards may call their county's election board for the location of their polling place.

Individuals who need to vote by absentee ballot may do so from now through primary day by going to their county Board of Supervisors of Elections. Voters who are unable to get there may send an agent as designated on the ballot application. Physically handicapped voters who have not previously arranged to vote at a "barrier free" site may vote by absentee ballot in lieu of going to the polls.

Those who need assistance to vote may request help from the voting judges or anyone except an employer or a union official, who by law are not allowed to provide this assistance.

Voters not already registered for the primary election cannot vote Tuesday. However, they can register to vote for the Nov. 6 general election by contacting the board of elections office after the registration books reopen Sept. 24. Registration for the general election will close Oct. 9.
