Courses on AIDS, Baby-Sitting Offered
The Prince William Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer a free course for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer HIV/AIDS instructor. The class, which will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Oct. 19, will help prepare the volunteers to give factual, unbiased presentations about HIV/AIDS.
The chapter also is offering a baby-sitting class for persons age 11 and older from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 10 and 17 at the Manassas Park Community Center. The cost for the baby-sitting class is $15.

Children's Theatre to Open
The Prince William County Cultural Arts Federation will begin a series of seven presentations for children during its eighth season of Children's Theatre.
The first program offered will be "Beauty and the Beast" at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodbridge High School and again at 2 p.m. at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas. Season tickets are $13 and are available by mail. Individual performance tickets may be bought at the door for $3 each, and tickets for groups of 12 or more will be $2 each. Car Pool Service Offered
The Ridesharing Program, a division of Prince William Commuteride, offers a free ride-matching service for commuters. The computerized program provides a commuter with a list of other commuters who live near the applicant and work in the same general employment area.

Charitable Bike Tour
The Prince William County Park Authority will hold its seventh annual Autumn Bike Tour beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday at James S. Long Park on Route 15 north of Haymarket.
The 28-mile bike ride will wind its way through northwestern Prince William and the foothills of Bull Run Mountain. The cost per person is $10, including brunch, and is open to amateur and experienced bikers. Call 491-2183.
Gymnastics Benefit Set
The TATAS (Twist and Turn and Spin) Gymnastics Club will present a benefit exhibition by its girl's team at 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the TATAS gym in Dumfries. Proceeds from donations will be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, although admission is free. Call 221-5833 for details.
Wine, Cheese and Charity
The Woodbridge Soroptimist Club will hold its second annual Charity Auction from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Hall on Minnieville Rd. in Dale City. The evening includes a wine and cheese buffet and a silent auction. Tickets are $5 a person and are available at the door.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit area charities such as ACTS, Turning Points and the SAVAS rape crisis center.
