Virginia State Police said two people died from injuries received in traffic accidents over the weekend.
Luanne B. Greco, 26, of Winfield, Pa., died after the Hyundai she was riding in rammed a guardrail in Alexandria early yesterday morning. Greco was a passenger in a car driven by Jeffery W. Telepo, 25, of North Howard Street in Alexandria. Telepo was treated at Alexandria Hospital and released. He was exiting Interstate 395 south on the ramp for Route 236 west when the accident occurred.
Police said they had not determined whether Greco and Telepo were wearing seat belts.
Preliminary evidence indicates alcohol may have been a factor, and charges are pending against the driver, police said.
A Loudoun County teenager, who was injured in an accident that occurred as she was on her way to school Friday morning, died Saturday afternoon at Reston Hospital. Heidi Blazevich, 16, of the 800 block of West Maple Avenue in Sterling, was making a left turn onto East Beech Road from Garfield Road when her car was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male. Police said the young man has been charged with reckless driving and other charges are pending.
Blazevich was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
