The following agencies offer referral services for people who want to volunteer in their area.

The agencies share ideas and services. Volunteers are needed all year, and especially during the holiday season. Needs vary according to the community but may include help for communal kitchens or shelters, nursing homes, veterans homes, disabled people, the homeless and individual children and families. People also are needed for caroling and holiday entertaining, gift wrapping and delivering baskets and gifts.

Volunteers may be asked to work with families or in local institutions, fill food baskets to be distributed to area families, or help with fund-raising efforts or administrative tasks. For people who have no time to spare, the agencies accept donations of all kinds.
