The ANC 1E task force on tax assesments is considering supporting an iniative by the Capitol Hill Taxpayers Alliance that would limit property tax increases to 5 percent annually. The ANC is seeking input from the community on this proposal. The ANC's office number is 462-3595.

The transportation committee is also seeking comment on a proposed request by Metro bus officials to move a bus passenger discharge point from Lamont and Mount Pleasant streets NW to 17th and Lamont streets NW.

At a meeting Nov. 7, ANC 2C took the following actions: Opposed an application to the D.C. Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) by Jerry Sills Estate General Associaton Inc. to continue operating a commercial parking lot at 414 Eye St. NW.Supported a BZA application by Ocean Reef #1 Limited Partnership to install a broadcast antenna for Cable News Network at 810 First St. NE.Opposed a BZA application by Lewis R. Murray to establish a professional office at 1208 M St. NW.Opposed an application to the Historic Preservation Review Board by the Art Deco Society of Washington to declare a building at 717 Sixth St. NW a historic landmark.Supported an application by the D.C. Preservation League to the Historic Preservation Review Board to declare row houses at 724-748 Third St. NW and a rooming house and commercial buildings at 300-302 H Street as historic landmarks.
