Holiday Open House
Welcome the holidays next Saturday with a visit to the Christmas Open House and sale of ceramics, prints and handmade paper products at the Lee Arts Center, 5722 Lee Hwy., Arlington. Professional artists from the center's Open Studio Program will demonstrate techniques in polymer clay jewelry, printmaking, ceramics and paper. Refreshments will be served. Call 358-5256.
Fiber Artists' Display
The work of ten fiber artists will be featured in an exhibition entitled "Winter Temptations." Original apparel, shibori, paper products, jewelry and home accessories will be displayed through Dec. 31 at the Fiberworks gallery, 105 N. Union St., Alexandria. Warner to Judge Exhibit
Sen. John W. Warner will judge the exhibit "A Healthy Outlook," sponsored by the Vienna Arts Society and the Worldgate Athletic Club. The show, featuring a painting by Warner, will be on display Monday through Friday at the club, 13031 Worldgate Dr., Herndon. There will be a reception to meet the artists from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with an awards ceremony starting at 8 p.m. A donation from the sale of the artwork will be made to Joe Gibbs Charities. Computer Art Exhibition
The Friends of the Torpedo Factory are sponsoring "Pixels to Pictures," an exhibition of computer art Sunday through Jan. 6. Computer artists Nancy Jackson Freeman, C.L. Terry Gips, Larry Ravitz and Chris Wayne's work are featured. Ravitz will demonstrate some of the most recent high-tech painting systems available for personal computers at a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show is at the Target Gallery, 105 N. Artist's One-Man Show
Washington artist Reid McIntyre's one-man show "Without Judgment" is the first featured solo exhibition for the Emerson Gallery, the new exhibit space of the McLean Project for the Arts. The show will run through Dec. 22 at the gallery, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean. McIntyre, influenced by his native West Virginia, uses anthracite coal, hubcaps and scrap wood in his artwork. The exhibition "Four Solos/Installations" is on view through Dec. 15 at the Gallery at the Ellipse, 4350 N. Fairfax Dr., Arlington. "Swinging Bridge" by Jerry Monteith, "When the Counting of Angels is Taken Too Seriously," by Lawley Paisley-Jones, "Into the Waters" by Lynn Schmidt and "Black and Blue: Living Room," by Mel Watkin are the featured installations on display.
