Job Fair Scheduled By Corrections Unit

The D.C. Department of Corrections will offer a job fair Saturday for physicians, nurses, physician's assistants, psychologists, health care workers, and food service and facilities management specialists.

The fair will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dix Building, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE.

Anyone with appropriate experience who is interested in a job with the department should bring a completed SF-171 government application or re'sume' and appropriate proof of medical certification.

Two local groups opposing U.S. intervention in the Persian Gulf are holding organizational meetings in the coming week.

The Anacostia Recycling Committee, an environmental group opposed to the cost of the buildup, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2458 Martin Luther King Ave. SE, and distribute leaflets by a caravan of bicycles and cars.

The Washington Area Coalition to Stop U.S. Intervention in the Middle East will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Friends Meeting House, 2111 Florida Ave. NW, to discuss plans for participation in the Jan. 26 National Demonstration in the District.

The Washington Waterfront Association will sponsor a benefit "Trim-a-Tree" festival along Washington's waterfront at 3 p.m. Saturday to benefit the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

Toys donated to the campaign to date will be brought to the festival by a colorful flotilla on the Washington Channel.
