2C NEAR NE/NW-SHAW-DOWNTOWN

At a meeting Dec. 5, ANC 2C did the following:

Supported an application by the D.C. Preservation League to declare the Victor apartment building, 724-726 Ninth St. NW, a historic landmark.

Supported an application by the D.C. Preservation League to designate the Mercantile Savings Bank building at 719-721 10th St. NW a historic landmark.

Supported a Board of Zoning Adjustment request by Waintown Limited Partnership to allow a child development center to be opened at 1250 H St. NW.

ANC 2C will meet to elect officers on Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Watha T. Daniel Library, Eighth Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW. 2E GEORGETOWN

At a meeting Nov. 27, ANC 2E did the following:

Supported an application to the office of the surveyor to close two alleys that bisect the Halcyon House site at 3400 Prospect St. NW.

Supported a design application to the Historic Preservation Review Board to construct a one-story structure in the rear yard of a residence at 3236 N St. NW.

Reviewed a design application to the Old Georgetown Board of the Commission of Fine Arts to construct a rear addition to a residence at 2819 P St. NW.

Received a report that the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board had supported the ANC's protest of the liquor license application for Bill's of Beverly Hills, 3340 M St. NW.

Received a report that the D.C. Department of Public Works will resurface Q Street NW east of Wisconsin Avenue beginning late next summer or in early fall.
