Summer Employment

Genealogical Society

King Holiday Celebration

The Prince William Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will sponsor a Martin Luther King Day Celebration at 11 a.m. Monday at Gar-Field High School.

Guest speakers will be the youth winners of the First Martin Luther King Oratorical Award and Faye Patterson, the Area II associate superintendent of Prince William County Public Schools.

The Quantico Marine Corps Band and Rhapsody will provide music, and African American literature and art will be sold before and after the program. Call chapter President Rosalyn Stanley at 670-9025 for information.

Library Plans Tax Seminar

The Central Branch of the Prince William Public Library will offer a free seminar, "Tax Tips: Filing Without Tears," at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 24. Certified public accountant Peter Chase will give information on tax updates and discuss strategies for filing tax returns. To register for the program or for further information, call 361-8211.

Square Dance Benefit

The Cooperative Council of Ministries will sponsor a benefit square dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. A donation of $5 per couple and $3 for singles is requested. Proceeds will be donated to local homeless people. Call 494-2556 for details.

Bus Service Scheduled

Prince William Commuteride, a county-sponsored bus system, has scheduled service for periods of inclement weather.

When the federal government closes its District offices, Commuteride buses will not operate routes into Washington and Crystal City.

Service for commuters heading home will be started one hour after government closings. Commuters living in eastern Prince William County should take Metrorail to the Pentagon stop, where they can get buses for Dale City, Lake Ridge and other areas. Manassas commuters are to take Metrorail to the Vienna station.
