Miners Strike Drama

The Road Company and Virginia Tech Department of Theater Arts and the Appalachian Studies Center will present "A Preacher With a Horse to Ride" by prize-winning playwright Jo Carson at 8 tonight and Friday at the Gunston Arts Center Theater.

The drama is a reexamination of the investigative hearing led by Theodore Dreiser and John Dos Passos into the 1931 Harlan County, Ky., miners strike.

Women and Money Series

The Arlington County Extension Homemakers Council and the Arlington chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons will sponsor a seven-week lecture/workshop series, entitled the Women's Financial Information Program.

The program, which will explore ways in which women can increase their financial skills, will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at Jackson School beginning March 6. The fee is $20.

DASH Public Hearing

The Alexandria Transit Co. will hold a public hearing on its 1992 Transit Development Program at 7:30 tonight in Room 3000 at City Hall.

As the fourth item on the agenda, the hearing will include two proposals of changes in service and a proposed increase in base fare. Call 370-3274.

Winter Dance Concert

The Arlington Dance Theater will present its Winter Dance Concert at 8 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday at the Thomas Jefferson Community Theater, with a children's matinee at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and children if purchased in advance, or $8 and $3 at the door.

All matinee tickets are $3.
