March for the Troops
Students and teachers from Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville together with members of the community will march Saturday from the school to the Leesburg Court House along the Washington & Old Dominion bike path in support of the soldiers serving in the Persian Gulf. The 9 a.m. "Troop for the Troops" is being organized by the Loudoun Valley War Emergency Committee.
Church Opens Doors
During the Persian Gulf War, St. James United Church of Christ in Lovettsville is opening its sanctuary to anyone who wants to pray from 5 to 11 p.m. every evening. The church is in the center of town at 10 East Broadway St.
Softball League Forms
The Loudoun County Spring Adult Softball League is preparing to open its 1991 season. Organizational meetings will be held through Febuary for anyone interested in the Gallery Room of the Loudoun County Administration Building, 18 North King St., Leesburg.
The church softball league is meeting Feb. 5, the co-ed league Feb. 7, the women's league Feb. 12 and the men's 35 and older league Feb. 14. All meetings are at 7:30 p.m. Call 777-0343.
The Central Loudoun Little League will hold registration for the 1991 baseball season from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the cafeteria at Simpson Middle School in Leesburg.
Anyone living in the central Loudoun area born between Aug. 1, 1977, and July 31, 1983, is eligible to play. Parents of players registering for the first time must bring their child's original birth certificate. A donation of $25 a child or $40 a family is requested. Hospital Follies Event
A director's party officially kicking off Loudoun Hospital Center's eighth annual Follies is being held at 7 tonight at the Leesburg Firehouse on Loudoun Street.
This year the follies, which will be held in early March, will feature a 50th anniversary salute to the USO. Anyone interested in participating in the show, either on stage or behind the scenes, is welcome to attend the party. Call the Hospital Center at 771-2850.
