The project is expected to cost nearly $155,000. Greenbelt will use $29,000 from its capital projects fund along with a $75,000 federal Environmental Protection Agency grant and a $40,000 matching grant from Maryland to pay for the project.

Greenbelt will also request a Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission study to determine whether Old Greenbelt should be designated an Historic District.
