Orbital Sciences Wins Contract in Las Vegas

Orbital Sciences Corp., of Dulles, has announced that its Transportation Management Systems division has won a $9.3 million contract with the Regional Transportation Commission of Clark County in Las Vegas.

Orbital will supply the county with its satellite-based vehicle location system. The system, Orbtrac, uses the government's Global Positioning System to track buses in mass transit systems in real time.

Local Executive Elected President of Builders Group

John Fuog, of Fuog-Interbuild Inc. in Purcellville, has been elected president of the mid-Atlantic chapter of the National Frame Builder's Association. Fuog, who founded his company in 1981, is also a director of the association, which is based in Lawrence, Kan.

Fuog-Interbuild specializes in horse facilities and light commercial buildings.

McLean Insurance Buys Academy Insurance Clients

McLean Insurance Agency has purchased the commercial clients of Academy Insurance Agency, a 25-year-old firm in Leesburg. McLean Insurance will operate at Academy's Fort Evans Road location under the name Academy Commercial Insurance Agency.

McLean Insurance also has an office in Sterling. Bill Bullington and Bryan Casey will manage the new office.

Freelance Technologies Adds 3 Employees, Office

Freelance Technologies, of Leesburg, has hired three staff members and secured additional office space.

The company, which sells mailing and marketing software, hired Tony Anzelone to work in sales, Alicia Kirlin in research and development and Ellenor Kirkconnell in training and support.

In addition to its operation on Edwards Ferry Road, the company will lease space on Loudoun Street.
