Southern Maryland school officials announced a number of administrative changes for the 1999-2000 school year.

In Calvert County, school officials said that Carol Reid will become the system's assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. Guffrie Smith will become director of curriculum, and Edna Vaughn will become director of special education.

Other appointments include: Cheryl Yates, supervisor of special education; Berta Airey, supervisor of elementary social studies; Joann Roberts, supervisor of elementary science; Jeff Walker, coordinator of accountability and testing; Charles Craft, executive director of personnel services; Patricia Young, director of personnel and administrative services; and Brian Stevens, director of transportation and athletics.

On the school level, Donna House will serve as the principal of Plum Point Elementary School. Gene Mancuso will become the vice principal at Beach Elementary School, while Laurie Meiser will fill that job at Huntingtown Elementary School.

In St. Mary's County, school officials said that Kristin Craft will become an assistant principal at Leonardtown High School, as will Russell Dobson and Sandra Tolson at Leonardtown Middle School. Jennifer Gilman will become the principal of Dynard Elementary School, where she served as acting principal this year. Kenneth Smith was named the system's supervisor of career and technology education.

Charles County school officials will announce their administrative changes next month.
