Gifts Needed for Litter Prevention

The Prince William Clean Community Council is seeking support from local businesses for a community litter prevention venture.

The council has been working with the Prince William Department of Public Works on the "Cover Your Load" program. State and county regulations require vehicles driven on any highway to be constructed or loaded in a way that prevents any of the load from spilling and littering the area. To encourage compliance with the law, two gifts a day are given randomly to people who bring their trash to the landfill in secured vehicles. All businesses making donations of gifts to this program will receive recognition in the council's annual report and banquet program.

Businesses and organizations interested in contributing to the program should call the Prince William Clean Community Council at 703-792-6272.
