The Sugarland Run Dolphins had a number of multiple first-place winners in Saturday's swim meet against the South Riding Stingrays.

Seven swimmers each won three events for Sugarland, which defeated South Riding, 243-178. Those winners included Josiah Toepfer (boys 13-14), Michael Johnson (boys 15-18), Maita Esteban (girls 8 and under), Cecilia Esteban (girls 9-10), Elizabeth Grider (girls 11-12), Sevcan Soysalan (girls 13-14) and Kimberly Grzeda (girls 15-18).

Several of the first-place winners also competed on the victorious mixed age 200-meter free relay team. Grider, Esteban, Soysalan and Grzeda won the relay in 2 minutes 12.96 seconds.

Caitlin Hein finished in second place in three races for Sugarland in the girls 13-14 age category. . . .

The Ashburn Farm Barracudas opened their ninth Herndon Swim League season with a 335-200 victory over the Sterling Park Seahawks on Saturday. Shannon Landers set a league record in the girls 7-8 25-meter backstroke, finishing in 20.87 seconds. Team records were set by Megan Newell (11-12 girls 50-meter backstroke), Stefani Lubore (15-18 girls 50-meter freestyle) and Scott Smingler (7-8 boys 25-meter breaststroke).

Ashburn Farm also fared well, setting three pool records. Jake Juzbasich set two of the records: Juzbasich finished the boys 7-8 backstroke in 21.84 and set a record in the boys 7-8 25-meter butterfly in 20.83.

Garrett Hols, B.J. Pankau, Andy Geuss and Kyle Gallo teamed to win the boys 15-18 medley relay in 1:01.10.
