The Cascades Rapids set three team records in defeating the Arlington Knights of Columbus, 340-103, in Saturday's swim meet.

Sarah Larson improved on her own team record for 9-10 girls, finishing the 25-meter butterfly in 18.01 seconds. Darcy Mason set a record in 11-12 girls 50 butterly in 37.57. The 100-meter medley relay team of Larson, Kacy Jenkins, Suzanne Nelson and Aly Pont also set a record, winning in 1 minute 22.69 seconds for 9-10 girls.

On the boys side, Pat Patterson had three first-place finishes in the 13-14 age group. Greg Long also won all three of his individual events for boys ages 15-18. . . .

The Ashburn Farm Barracudas won for the second straight week, defeating Hunters Creek, 295-230. The girls 9-10 medley relay team of Erica Swanson, Liz Winslow, Suzanne Schwee and Laura Laiti broke a three-year-old Herndon Swim League record by 3.67 seconds, finishing in 1:17.10.

Shannon Landers had first-place finishes in the free, backstroke, breaststroke and fly for 7-8 girls, including a league-record finish of 20.40 in the backstroke. Caitlin Coogle, Megan Newell, Stefani Lubore, Scott Smingler, Chris Winslow and Michael O'Brien set other team records. . . .

The Countryside Waves had a number of triple individual winners in their victory over Franklin Glen. Those winners included Cole Jamison (8-and-under boys), Andrew Mears (9-10 boys), Margaret Basel (8-and-under girls), Jessica Dutcher (9-10 girls), Jennifer Basel (11-12 girls) and Megan Stavish (15-18 girls).
