Samuel Fleming won the 50-meter fly, the 50 freestyle and the 100 individual medley events to lead the Bannister Neighborhood Swim Team to a 277-246 win over host Hawthorne Country Club in a PrinceMont Swim League meet Saturday. Both teams compete in Division E; it was the fourth meet of the season.
Fleming, who swims in the 11-12 boys class, recorded a winning time of 45.89 seconds in the fly event, 34.25 in the free and 1:29.47 in the IM. He also teamed with Dustyn Altimus, Ron Snider and Scott Lohman to capture the graduated boys 200 free relay crown.
Double winners for Bannister included Altimus, who won the 9-10 boys 25 fly (22.18) and 25 breast (23.62); Samantha Horrell, 11-12 girls 50 free (38.88) and 50 back (48.04); Lindsay Hyman, 11-12 girls 50 breast (50.85) and 100 IM (1:45.50); Jessica Lohman, 13-14 girls 50 fly (35.52) and 50 free (30.83); and Scott Lohman, 15-18 boys 100 free (1:03.60) and 100 IM (1:14.36).
For Hawthorne, Barbara Wilson swept three events. She won the under-10 girls 25 fly in 19.57 seconds, took the 9-10 girls 50 free with a time of 36.80 and finished the 9-10 girls 25 breast in 24.41.
Dean Campbell (13-14 boys) and Carrie Rafer (15-18 girls) also were triple winners for Hawthorne. Campbell won the 50 fly by more than six seconds and Rafer beat the runner-up in the 50 back by 4.41.
GREENBELT MUNICIPAL POOL 273.50, SMALLWOOD VILLAGE SWIM TEAM 261.50: Despite the loss, Krystina Weaver (11-12 girls) set records for the visiting Charles County team in the 50 fly and 50 back during the July 3 meet. The double winner's fly time was 38.05 and the back mark was 37.43. It was the third meet of the season for both teams.
Other top performers for Smallwood -- a Division B team -- were Nick Pryde (11-12 boys), Shannon Flores (11-12 girls) and Mary Scott (13-14 girls). All three were triple winners.
Pryde finished in 35.66 in the 50 free, 50.31 in the 50 breast and 1:32.91 in the under-12 100 IM.
Flores clocked in at 32.83 in the 50 free, a team-record 40.97 in the 50 breast and won the under-12 100 IM with a mark of 1:24.56.
Scott won the 50 free, the 50 breast and the 100 IM in 33.89 seconds, 43.22 and 1:22.52, respectively.
ADELPHI RECREATION 269, INDIAN HEAD 265: In the fourth meet of the season for both Division B teams, Erica Hamor (under-10 girls) and Scott Seymour (13-14 boys) were triple winners for the Charles County team.
Hamor won the 25 fly, the 50 free and the 25 back, while Seymour took the titles in the 50 free, breast and 100 IM.
Team records were set by Heather Hamor (13-14 girls) in the 100 IM, Stephanie Young (11-12 girls) in the 50 breast and Donte' Stanford (15-18 boys) in the 50 fly.
The Indian Head team of Erica and Heather Hamor, Brittany Baffer and Erin Gilroy won the 9-18 girls 200 free relay with a time of 2:14.25.
