In the Colonial League's Gold Divisional Championship on Saturday, the host South Riding Stingrays had a strong showing with 21 top four finishes.

Ryan Tomajczyk led the way with three victories, finishing the 9-10 boys 50-meter breaststroke in 43.69 seconds, the 25 butterfly in 17.89 and the 100 individual medley in 1 minute 25.04 seconds.

On the girls side, Beth Broderick had three top three finishes with a third place in the 15-18 girls 50 freestyle and second places in the 50 backstroke and 50 fly. South Riding finished the season 2-3. . . .

The Ashburn Farm Barracudas broke a number of team records in the Sterling Park Invitational on July 21. Erin Graydon broke the 13-14 girls 50 free record, Stefani Lubore broke her own record in the 15-18 girls 50 free, and Chris Winslow improved upon his own record in the 11-12 boys 50 breast.

Saturday, before the Barracudas' meet against Hunters Creek and the Courts of Chandon was called because of lightning, Shannon Landers set a new league record in the 7-8 girls 25 free with a time of 17.26 seconds. . . .

The Sterling Seahawks found themselves in a battle against the Manorgate Marlins on Saturday as the two teams matched each other victory for victory. The Seahawks finally broke through in the 11-12 boys 50 breast, with Brad Reedy leading his team to a sweep of the top three spots.

The Seahawks held on to win the meet, 254-222.
