Mary Kathleen Curry Park

Kindergarten Teacher

Mary Kathleen Curry Park, 79, a Falls Church resident who retired in 1978 after about 15 years as a kindergarten teacher in the Fairfax County school system, died of cancer July 27 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Mrs. Park, who had lived in the Washington area since 1931, spent most of her career at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church.

Earlier, she taught kindergarten for church schools in Northern Virginia.

She was born in Pittsburgh and reared in Washington, where she graduated from what is now the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and American University.

She was a member of Lewinsville Presbyterian Church in McLean, the Delta Gamma Society and other educational organizations.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert L. Park of Falls Church; two children, Lucy Dugger of Richmond and Timothy C. Park of Manassas; a sister; and three grandsons.

Grace P. Audette


Grace P. Audette, 69, a secretary at the State Department in the 1950s, died of lung cancer July 10 at her home in Concord, Mass.

Mrs. Audette was a native of New London, Conn., and a graduate of Barnard College. She lived in the Washington area from 1952 to 1977, and in recent years, had worked in the operations department of a bank in Keene, N.H..

Her husband, Gerald A. Audette, died in 1972. Survivors include four children and four grandchildren.
