Monday:

1. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the left lane of Amherst Avenue between Bland Street and Springfield Boulevard will be closed for pavement construction. The right lane will remain open.

Monday through Thursday:

2. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, the right shoulder on southbound Interstate 95 between Old Keene Mill Road the HOV flyover will be closed to set a barrier.

3. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, the right lane on southbound I-95 between Interstate 495 and Commerce Street will be closed for bridge construction. Police will be on site for traffic control. Two lanes will remain open.

4. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, the left lane of Franconia Road between Loisdale Road and Backlick Road will be closed for bridge construction. The right lane will remain open.

5. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, alternating lanes on Franconia Road between Loisdale Road and Frontier Drive will be closed for splicing of fiber-optic cable.

6. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a lane shift will occur on Franconia Road at Robert E. Lee High School for work on a gas line.

7. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, the left lane in each direction on Frontier Drive from Franconia Road to the first Mall Entrance (Number 3) will be closed for the construction of a pipeline. The right lane in each direction will remain open.

8. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, lane shifts will occur on Commerce Street between Franconia Road and Bowie Drive for gas line work.

Monday through Friday:

9. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the two left lanes on southbound I-95 between I-495 and Old Keene Mill Road (Route 644) will be closed for bridge demolition. Police will be on site for traffic control. After midnight, there will be traffic stoppages for as long as 15 minutes in all lanes.

Tuesday:

10. From 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, lane shifts will occur on Amherst Avenue between Bland Street and Springfield Boulevard for construction of a traffic detour.

Wednesday:

11. From 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 am. Thursday, there will be a lane shift on northbound I-95 from Old Keene Mill Road to I-495 for the striping for the new detour.

Wednesday and Thursday:

12. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the right lane on northbound I-95 from the Franconia/Springfield Parkway to the Commerce Street overpass will be closed for the construction of a detour. Two lanes will remain open.

Wednesday night through Friday morning:

13. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the two right lanes on northbound I-95 between Exit 169 and Old Keene Mill/Franconia Road (Route 644) will be closed for overhead sign work. Police will be on site for traffic control. One lane will remain open.

Friday night through Sunday morning:

14. From 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Sunday, all HOV lanes from Springfield/Franconia Parkway to the District will be closed for milling and paving asphalt and bridge demolition.

Until winter 2001:

15. The Old Keene Mill Road (Route 644) ramp to southbound I-95 will be closed for the construction of new ramps to both northbound and southbound I-95. VDOT has posted detour signs to send traffic south on Backlick Road for 2.5 miles to enter I-95 at Newington. Motorists also can take Rolling Road south, turn left on Alban Road and drive north for 1A miles until they see signs for I-95.
