Software Firm Ready for Upgrade
Pacel Corp., a software development and systems integration company in Manassas, has signed a lease to double office space from 4,100 square feet to 8,200 at its headquarters on Rixlew Lane as of Sept. 1. The company also plans to increase its work force from 15 to 30 by the end of summer.
The new space will be home to programmers, Web site and database developers, technicians, additional sales force and supervisory personnel responsible for Pacel's Internet business. That business provides, among other services, e-commerce consulting and development.
The company also announced that it broke sales record in July by booking 11 contracts, including a program with Scientific Applications International Corp. and Georgia Tech on voice recognitions for wearable computers in high noise environments.
"Pacel Corp. will continue to build and expand out marketing and sales efforts and personnel ensuring the continued growth and expansion of our company," said President David E. Calkins.
