NOVA to Break Ground on Arts Center

Northern Virginia Community College's Loudoun campus plans to break ground for a new building at 3 p.m. Sept. 2, coinciding with the campus's 25th anniversary.

The 46,000-square-foot building, expected to be complete by next July, will house a 200-seat theater, an art gallery and studios designed for use by the multimedia, fine arts and interior design programs.

The groundbreaking ceremony will include members of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, local mayors and members of the Virginia General Assembly. Former state senator Charles L. Waddell, for whom the new building will be named, also is scheduled to attend.

A reception will follow the ceremony, featuring acoustic guitar music. The events are free and open to the public.

Attendees should come prepared to share business ideas, recommended reading, helpful Web sites and other tips. Dress is casual, and participants must pay for their own meals.
