Bowie Library Reopens

After a two-year, $4.8 million renovation, the Bowie branch library reopened at its permanent location, 15210 Annapolis Rd., on Monday. The branch, which closed in August 1997 for major upgrades, had been providing services from a vacant retail site in South Bowie. Some of the many new features in the renovated library are a carpeted lobby and second-floor level, a two-story atrium, two elevators, a meeting room with a stage and theatrical lighting.

Prince George's County public schools held a school dedication ceremony Aug. 21 for Judge Sylvania W. Woods Sr. Elementary School, at 3000 Church St., Landover.
