Talkin' About Growth

The Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring an environmental symposium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to address "smart growth."

Tom Muller, an economic and fiscal forecasting consultant, will discuss "Fiscal Costs of Growth"; Ed Risse of Synergy-Planning Inc. will address "Reconsidering Human Settlement Patterns"; and Stewart Schwartz of Coalition for Smarter Growth will talk about "Community Designs for the Future."

The event, which costs $15, will be held at the Montclair Golf, Tennis and Swim Club, 16500 Edgewood Dr., Dumfries.

Bank Names Vice President

Cardinal Bank Manassas/Prince William, which opened last month, announced the appointment of Margaret Gentry-Myers as vice president and branch manager of the bank.

Gentry-Myers was formerly an officer with Chevy Chase Bank in Lake Ridge.

Meet and Greet

The Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold its Business After Hours Network Connection from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9.

The free event, at 9012 Church St. in Manassas, will be hosted by the Prince William United Way.

Back to School Drive

The Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce is collecting school supplies to donate to the Hylton Boys & Girls Clubs on Sept. 15.

Local businesses are asked to assist in providing educational tools to children whose families can't afford school supplies for this school year.
