Remember these guys? Take one final look. They're gone -- but not soon forgotten.

1. RB James Garrett, Chopticon

Garrett, a first-team All-Extra selection, was explosive, powerful and a true workhorse for the Braves. Named his team's MVP, Garrett rushed for 1,556 yards and eight touchdowns in 1998.

2. LB-TE Ron Luczak, Thomas Stone

Luczak was first-team all-SMAC on offense and defense. He, along with teammate Matt Smith on the defensive line, led a Cougars defense that allowed 12.8 points per game.

3. LB Nick Marks, Westlake

Marks was named the All-Extra Defensive Player of the Year for his record-setting season with the Wolverines. He picked up all-SMAC and all-Charles County honors as well.

4. OL-DL Matt Smith, Thomas Stone

Smith, a first-team all-SMAC and All-Extra pick, opened holes that All-Met Marcus Whalen ran through; he also contained opponents' rushing threats. On defense, he had 41 tackles and one sack.

5. DL Sam Williams, McDonough

Williams, a quick and agile defender, was a first-team all-SMAC and All-Extra selection. He finished the season with a conference-high 17 sacks, including 13 over the final six games.
