Junior running back Antoine Saunders scored a pair of rushing touchdowns as Stonewall Jackson rallied on the road last night to win its first game of the season, 22-15 over Fauquier.

Saunders opened the scoring with a 62-yard run in the first quarter, but Fauquier's George Minor scored a pair of touchdowns to give the Falcons a 15-8 halftime lead.

Saunders's 25-yard run in the third quarter put Stonewall ahead for good, 16-15. Quarterback Dan Rosinski hooked up with running back Richard Bailey on a 30-yard pass in the third quarter to cap the scoring.

Stonewall (1-2) won for the first time in six games, a streak dating to last season. In three of those games, the Raiders had been shut out, including Monday's 19-0 setback at home to Osbourn.

* COURTLAND 20, STAFFORD 0: Cortez Thompson rushed for a pair of touchdowns as Virginia AA Courtland beat its former Commonwealth District rival at home.

Three plays after the Cougars' Demetrius Brown blocked a punt, Thompson took the ball in from two yards to give Courtland a 6-0 lead. Thompson (15 carries, 79 yards) capped the scoring with a 17-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Corey Miller rushed for 92 yards, and Chris Prince added a 12-yard touchdown run for Courtland (2-1).

Stafford, which snapped a six-game losing streak last week, fell to 1-2.
