Nominations Sought

The Preservation Alliance of Virginia is kicking off its new "Virginia's Most Endangered Historic Places" program with a call for nominations. Organizations, individuals and government officials can nominate their top picks by completing a nomination form.

Eligible sites include any landscape, vista, landmark, district, artifact or area of cultural, architectural, historical, archaeological or natural significance.

The program, funded by grants from the Robins Foundation and the Beirne Carter Foundation, will focus attention on Virginia's most sensitive historic resources.

The nonprofit Alliance works to encourage the protection, preservation and promotion of the cultural, historic and archaeological resources and natural heritage of Virginia.

The nomination forms are due by Dec. 1. Forms are available by calling the Alliance at 804-984-4484 or by visiting the Web site, www.vapreservation.org.
