Financial Services Firm Opens
Raymond James Financial Services Inc. has opened an office on Pidgeon Hill Drive in Countryside.
The office, one of more than 1,200 Raymond James firms nationwide, will offer asset management, mutual funds, stocks and bonds, and other financial services.
James T. Barnette Jr. was appointed branch manager. He previously was a financial adviser in the Sterling office of Intersecurities, a financial services firm based in Clearwater, Fla.
Barnette, a Northern Virginia resident since 1979, lives in Ashburn with his wife and three children.
How to Land Airport Business
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which operates Dulles International and Ronald Reagan National airports, will offer a seminar for small businesses on upcoming contract opportunities at the airports.
The seminar will focus on construction and goods and services. It will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Sheraton Crystal City Hotel, 1800 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Arlington.
Small-business owners will be able to network with airport companies and staff members from the airports' procurement, materials management and engineering offices. Contractors and subcontractors will offer tips on how to compete for and manage construction and goods and services contracts. The seminar is free. To register, call 703-417-0017.
Chamber Seeks New Members
As part of its membership drive, the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce will hold mixers Oct. 6 and 20.
The first mixer will be at 5:30 p.m. at Hunter's Pub in Cascades. The second, which will mark the end of the membership drive, will also start at 5:30 p.m. and be held at the Ashburn Ice House.
Businesses that join the chamber during the drive will receive one month's membership free, five weeks free of the Washington Business Journal, a free copy of the chamber's member list of 1,200 businesses and other incentives.
